Remove 36 assets from the accepted fee currencies
This proposal removes 36 assets from the list of currencies that can be used to pay transaction fees on Hydration. All of them have stopped trading on Hydration.
When a user pays a fee in a non-HDX asset, the fee goes to the Treasury in that asset. For assets with no active market on Hydration, the protocol cannot easily convert those fees into assets it wants to hold, so they build up as balances the Treasury cannot use. Use is already negligible: over the last 30 days only 12 of these assets paid any fees, in 321 transactions worth about $1.43 in total.
Assets removed:
PHA (8), ASTR (9), iBTC (11), ZTG (12), BNC (14), GLMR (16), INTR (17), DAI Wormhole (18), SUB (24), UNQ (25), NODL (26), CRU (27), KILT (28), PLMC (29), MYTH (30), RING (31), AJUN (32), vASTR (33), NEURO (36), SQD (37), CFG (41), EURC (42), sUSDat (45), LAOS (3370), EWT (252525), PEN (1000081), ACA (1000099), LDOT (1000100), WETH (1000189), WBTC (1000190), XLM.s (1000198), sUSDS (1000626), EURC.s (1000746), SUI (1000753), KSM (1000771), LBTC (1000851).
The call is a single batch of 36 multiTransactionPayment.removeCurrency calls. This origin is accepted on the General Admin track.
Balances, transfers and trading of these assets are not affected; only the option to pay fees in them is removed. HDX, DOT, the major stablecoins, ETH and BTC assets, and all other currently accepted fee assets remain available. Accounts that have one of these assets selected as their fee currency need to select a different one in their wallet settings.
