Dear HydraDX community,
Many members of the Darwinia community have been requesting a Polkadot native DEX where they can purchase RING. What better DEX to set up the first listing of RING in the Polkadot Ecosystem than the HydraDX Omnipool. The Community also recently approved the funding of this listing through the treasury spend proposal here: https://darwinia2.subsquare.io/referenda/2.
Darwinia has been around since the early days of Polkadot, even garnering a mention in the Polkadot light paper. During the last 4+ years the team was the first to bridge Ethereum to Polkadot, build the first Substrate to Substrate bridge connecting Darwinia with its Canary chain Crab, and executing the first ever remote governance upgrade of a Parachain from a Solochain.
Over time Darwinia’s focus has shifted from building bridges to different chains, to building a messaging highway that can send any kind of txn or message between chains. Currently Sudo has been removed and governance is using OpenGov.

RING has been bridged to a few different blockchains outside of Darwinia Chain. A list of these chains can be seen here: https://darwinia.notion.site/RING-Specification-on-Different-Chains-fc76162d9b4b430b92b653779789bb6f?pvs=4
RING is listed on a number of DEXs in the chains note in the link above, along with a number of CEXs, but at this time no chain supports native RING withdrawal and there is no support for RING in a native Polkadot DEX. RING is native token on Darwinia Chain which is EVM compatible. Therefore RING can be any other asset standard on alternative chains following their standard if it is cross-chain transferred.
To improve liquidity for our native token, RING, within the Polkadot ecosystem, we would like to open HRMP channels between HydraDX and Darwinia and then deposit 25,000,000 RING (~$130,000 as per 03/09/2024 price) in the Omnipool. This proposal is being posted to see if there is positive feedback from the Hydra community for such a listing.
Thank you for your consideration!
