Hi HDX Community,
long story short, I must have accidentally fatfingered the tip on HDX staking to 100%. This is some next level American tipping right there.
Now am I the one to blame because I was too hasty on auto mode and thought I have to approve the amount I want to stake again, or is the auto-toggled field for a tip not ideally placed, or lastly, should a notification have reminded me that I'm not about to stake but give the entire amount as a tip for a transaction that will end up in a failed staking attempt?
So what happened is, I sold some bad stock investments and thought to get use the remains to buy HDX in order to increase my staking. Once I had my 31k HDX, I wanted to increase my stake. I typed in the amount, confirmed, waited but somehow the transaction failed. The HDX were gone. I wanted to wait until the next to see if they are somehow coming back but they didn't.
Another day later I checked the transaction on subscan and it turns out that the 31k HDX I wanted to stake went all out as tip. I then reached out to HDX Support on Discord. I do not remember typing in the amount again, but HDX Devs confirmed that the UI doesn't have an auto-complete field feature, so it must've been me.
@lol said that the funds have been given to the HDX treasury. So is there a way to propose to get them back?
If it was my mistake, it was an honest mistake as I clearly did not want to donate 100% of my HDX.
What is the route to propose to refund the funds?
Thanks a lot for your help!
hey, the council recognizes that this was a human error, and agrees to provide a tip to return the funds since they were deposited to the Treasury
However, we hope it is something that does not happen repeatedly ๐
