I think the logo should stay the same

Lending and borrowing should definitely be in the HydraDX interface (separate app interface might not be nice)

I, the great Fiskantes, approve of the bullish rebrand and believe it is a necessity.

agree on the money maker, I was waiting for it for a long time to be able to show our liquidation system 😎

However, with the stablecoin, it is not entirely clear what system will be used, so I would like more information about it

Personally I like HydraDX, more than hydration, maybe name the Money maker that way? or idk hahaha

That seems fine to me. Yes, it is true that many do not know what the "DX" of HydraDX is, but it is not a problem for anyone. Hydration sounds boring and difficult to search. Also Hydra is easier. You know, what works, don't change it. Still, it's interesting to see what the community thinks about the name. I'll stick with HydraDX.

If user could switch from HydraDX(Dex) to Hydration (MM), Hydra multi headed monster will remain the same , and also people would not be overwhelmed by one interface with lots of features (swap, liquidity , ref, staking ,lending..ets ) just keep it simple.

Everything is great, when we develop and move forward, I always vote "YES"! Nevertheless, there are 2 points that, in my opinion, need to be improved

  1. The name of the new stable coin. HOLLAR. This abbreviation is long and incomprehensible.
I suggest shortening it to HSD - Hydro States Dollar

  2. The name HydraDX (Hydra) and corporate identity must be left in one form or another. It's reinforced concrete. Perhaps, as suggested above, the new brand means the entire ecosystem (Hydration Network) and all services, but, for example, Omnipool is the old Hydra with its stoic style!

I personally understand why some OGs will be resistant to any change. In fact, most people detest any sort of rebrand and change with the products they use. But more often than not its just matter of habit. Also we need to mind potential new users for many of whom old UI and brand is imo too clunky. nd stoic vibe is too archaic - let's step into bright sunny future rather than keep looking back into a perilous past.

New brand is refreshing the market sentiment (shiny new toy bias is dumb but works, so why not take advantage) and lighter colors and vibe imo suit better for mainstream adoption than dark pixel font. The problem with Hydra as a name is that it is extremely generic name and many projects are claiming it. Hydration is definitely more original and is closer to the "pool of liquidity" theme.

HydraDX is an excellent name imo. It is not easy to have a good name and I would not change something that already is good.

HydraDX is partially what drew me into this project. It raised curiosity what the product is about and eventually it made me discover a great product.

Hydration makes me think that I should drink more water. Getting a glass of water now. It does not make me think of trading internet moneys at all.

Hope that helps.
Cheers

Some dedicated thoughts on the stablecoin idea:

I've spent the vast majority of my last years within Ethereum DeFi ecosystem. Many projects there had the imagination that they need to work on a stable coin, because they thought it looks great on the roadmap or they believed that there is a market need.

The outcome of this so far has been that there is effectively 0 demand for non-custodian stablecoins. The only place non-custodian stables are actually used is farming on partner projects. Such as: go to appX because you can earn some ponzi yield by depositing usdHolla.

Afaik, there is no non-custodian stable that is actively used in real use cases, such as in liquidity pairs, as temporary store of value, payments, off-ramping, etc.

TLDR: work that has been conducted in non-custodian stables so far has been a waste of time.

This in terms of facts.

Now, if you still think you can make a real difference, go ahead and good luck.

I would keep in mind that the current trading use case by itself is large enough + has real and significant demand. You will be busy enough providing for the current service and making it better. I would focus mostly on this and leave out stablecoin fantasies.

Cheers

i lowkey like the name Hydra more than Hydration. Even “Hydrate” would be better than Hydration imo. Just my 2 cents

Could a rebrand to simply “Omni” work in honor of our beloved pool? Keep the new proposed art theme

Stable currency and borrowing are indeed important components of defi. Hydradx has already gained an advantage in DEX and can try lending and stable currency. Regardless of the outcome, it is a positive attempt. Doing a good job can improve efficiency, increase users and income, and generate a flying wheel effect.

Let's discuss details about it
Stablecoin
1 Stable currency collateral crash settlement (the core stable currency needs to be stable but risk isolated from the DEX, even if decoupling requires reducing the impact on the Hydrax DEX)
2 Stable currency circulation incentives (including how user ease of use can compete with USDT in the long term)
3 Income of stablecoin minters
4 protocol benefits (including the increase in user stickiness funds without direct benefits).
At least the above 4 points require a balance of interests among multiple parties to seek long-term development

Stablecoins are not toys, they need to be planned for the long term. From the perspectives of offense and defense, we can analyze that offense is competing with USDT. When clearing defense, we should not have any negative impact on the DEX itself
Lending
The introduction of ETH BTC SOL related asset support and silky smoothness
Competitive interest rates, such as borrowing rates comparable to those of large lending platforms
Liquidation issues are the same as stablecoins
brand
The Hydradx brand has been proven to be effective, and its establishment was not easy. It cannot be guaranteed that brand reshaping will be a good thing in the long run. Good brands mainly come from good products, rather than simply changing logos and so on. It is recommended that project parties and communities focus more resources on product development, such as whether Dex is strong enough to cope with IL's larger scale liquidity, lower transaction fees, and more users under unilateral market conditions

Of course, we do not deny the important role of marketing, but there are several principles that we suggest referring to. Try to put in more limited effort and produce more marketing plans. Be cautious when it comes to big marketing with uncertain results, and prefer not to do marketing with potentially harmful results

I get the intention behind this rebranding campaign, but why change something that works for something that might work. I get the motivation to step away from the negative connotation of the Hydra Monster, but maybe we can step forward with just a reinterpretation of the brand. For example the Hydra organism, which is a freshwater organism, where for example Biologists are especially interested in Hydra because of their regenerative ability; they do not appear to die of old age, or to age at all. Which is something unique. I also thought that DX came was an abbreviation of DEX. It seems that the sentiment is to keep the HydraDX brand and to focus on a efficient marketing campaign.

Personally I think HydraDX has gain a lot of traction, the community loves it and it would be wise to capitalize on that. Don't fix something that isn't broken! Just a reinterpretation, to step away from the negative connotation would benefit us greatly.

Having our own native stable coin is an excellent idea but the name Hollar it sort of long and for my ear, it doesn't sound right. What about HOLD? Referencing Gold, Hydra Gold, which can also be found in river streams, which has a connection to water as well. Gold has proven to be the most stable asset of all time, and I don't see a problem to be pegged to the value of the dollar as well, as initialy the dollar was pegged to gold. We could definitely capitalize on that and HOLD has a right feel to it.

I am very much in favour of the proposed changes. The old brand was and still is amazing. But we must look ahead and think of what brings us forward in the future. The fact that the current brand at this very point might still do the job should imo not be decisive, as it won't stay like that. And to opt for change only when everybody is weary of the old one is too late, we should not be running behind but advance!

Personally i like HydraDX more, but it's natural to be change averse so i am willing to give the name a chance.

As for algo stable coin, i can't yet form an educated opinion as i am not clear on how it will work and what can be done to guarantee it's peg. After luna's collapse just the notion of algo stables is very difficult to digest. there should be concrete plans to educate the community on how is it different from all other attempts at algo stablecoins and why this time it'll be different.

HOLLAR stablecoin is an odd one, I have to say. It's too long, and weird sounding.

How about HYD?

I can get behind changing the visuals, but not the name change. Part of what makes the hydration meme so great to me is that it's just an extension of the network's name. If the name changes to Hydration, suddenly the hydration meme isn't really a meme... it's just posting about the network's name - lame.

Not sure about a circle logo, I'd need to see a more final version, but my initial thought is, everyone has a circle logo. HDX's current logo stands out, that's what we want.

The re-brand is good, gets my vote.

Sounds like a simp maybe, but for a while I've sorta felt that the branding/naming was a bit too niche, and a bit muddled (hydra is a beast/monster from classical mythology, but ALSO it's about hydration like water! huh, cool cool).

We love Hydra it's badass. But most of all we love the team+community+solutions that we're creating. Those matter way more than a name in the long run.

Those will continue just with a more accessible, focused, immediately-understandable presentation.

Just save me some of the OG swag plz (T-shirt size L or XL)
